Wednesday evening country duo LOCASH came to Seattle on their Ones To Watch Tour. Along with them they brought Ryan Follese and Michael Tyler for a great night of country music at the Neptune Theatre.
Up first for the evening was country newcomer Michael Tyler. He put on a a good performance and the audience really enjoyed his show. Some fans already knew his music and were singing along. Those who hadn’t seen him won’t forget him anytime soon. He’s got a great voice, really good music and a nice stage presence. Tyler just released his debut album 317 on March 17th and the first video single, They Can’t See, has had great success so far. Check out the video here. I think we will be hearing a lot more out of him in the future
Second performance of the night came from Ryan Follese. His performance was a lot of fun and he has a good country sound. I had no idea before his set that his parent’s are country song writing alumni, writing quite a few hit songs for some of country’s greats! Clearly, writing runs in his family! Follese took the fans through a few of the songs and then joked about how his mother asked him why he doesn’t perform any of the songs she has written. So he made a point of playing one so he could prove he’s done it. Even though writing runs in his family, he’s a strong writer on his own as well and shared some behind the scenes about writing the song Put a Label On It. If you haven’t heard of Ryan Follese before, you really should check him out.
The headliners of the night and tour were LOCASH. Formerly known as The LoCash Cowboys, Preston Brust and Chris Lucas have been working together for sometime now. They’ve been a successful writing team that have had songs become hits for artists like Keith Urban and Tim McGraw. With that kind of writing success, it’s only natural that they can write hit songs for themselves as well, which is exactly what they have been doing. The guys released The Fighters in July 2016 and have been busy promoting the album and touring. With songs like I Know Somebody and Ring on Every Finger, its clear this team has found their stride in writing and performing. The one thing to note about this group is that their country sound has a great infusion of rock influence which gives them a fresh sound that’s not the typical traditional country sound. Very enjoyable to listen to, so I was really looking forward to checking them out live.
The guys hit the stage third in the line up to a packed venue. The fans were excited well before they took to the stage and were singing along with them from the beginning of their set. There was a lot of great music, a little drinking and lots of interaction between the band and the fans. LOCASH put on a great live show and if you’ve never seen them, you really should. They are finishing up this leg of the tour but many new tour dates have been added and they will be touring from April through October of 2017 so chances are you may be able to catch them. Head over to their website and check out their remaining tour dates.
