Indie artist Lili St Anne has been in the studio working on her upcoming EP Bone Marrow and has recently recorded and released a music video for her song “For Isabella”. She will be heading out on tour around August to coincide with her EP release. Check out the video below and get more details about Lili St Anne following the video.
About Lili St Anne:
Lili – A french nickname for Elizabeth
Saint – Growing up Catholic can’t help but leave its mark
Anne – Lili’s grandmother, a painter and an excellent card player
With lyric melodies and unexpected syncopation, the intimate songwriting and soulfully enticing vocals envelope you in an ethereal world permeated by strains of neo-soul, 1940s jazz, appalachian folk, and human howls. The songs live in a curious juxtaposition of whimsy and thoughtfulness, creating an intimate soundtrack that ponders themes of love and loss from a distinctly female perspective, embodying all that is Lili St. Anne..
Her songs, in collaboration with funk and hip-hop drummer Jason Miller, make Lili St Anne an uncommon genre-bending experience. Their new single “Wolves” is set to release right before they go on their West Coast tour in August where they will hit cities like Vancouver BC, LA and Seattle.
You can listen to her previous studio releases on her website as well as her music videos – including the most recent, “For Isabella”. A haunting, modern style waltz, that was inspired by a character she played at the Imago Theatre last year about a desperate girl who seeks attention but simultaneously craves love.
