One of my passions when it comes to music is to talk about and share the bands who are making music locally in my city and region around Seattle, Washington. We cover so many national and international bands on our site that we felt it was important to start a new feature on the site called Seattle Spotlight Artist specifically to help our bands stand out as we are covering bands from around the world.
The internet is great for getting the word out, but we still need to take a part in sharing our musical talents with the rest of the world and help others to connect with them. Last month we brought you In Aisle Eight as our first Seattle Artist Spotlight. This month I bring you Post Rapture Party.
Of all the places I could have connected with this band, it was by a post from vocalist, Noccie (pronounced No-See) on our Twitter page (@YesterdazeNews). We got to chatting and I found that I really enjoyed their sound. So here they are. World and readers, meet Seattle’s Post Rapture Party.
Post Rapture Party are a 5 member band who make this really fun type of music they call “Psychedelic Shoegaze – Grace Slick and Souxsie had a baby and it’s us!” I had the chance to catch them live opening for LA’s Hail Sagan last week and what a fun band to see perform live. The vibe of their show brought the strong feeling of inclusion to all who came out to catch the show.
I sat down and chat with Noccie and learned all about the band, their music and a little more about what they stand for. Take a listen to the interview and check out a video of their single “Welcome Home” live from El Corazon last week.
