Seattle Artist Spotlight: A Flourishing Scourge

I was out last night with another one of our great Seattle bands. This time, A Flourishing Scourge. This four member group does extreme progressive metal and were opening up for NE Obliviscaris and Allegaeon at Studio Seven.

I first got to know these guys last year at another local show and was intrigued by their sound and stage presence. They have a really heavy sound that any prog-metal or even just metal fan will really enjoy. After their set we got to chatting and I decided to keep an eye on what they were doing next. Fast forward a year and here we are and the guys are still making their way in the music scene with an ever growing following as people discover their sound. So I thought it was time to introduce all of our readers to another one of Seattle’s music maker.

The band recently released their self titled debut album ‘A Flourishing Scourge’ in June.  It is available on Amazon, BandcampCD Baby, iTunes and Spotify.

Here’s a little of their music, so give these guys a listen and discover new music!  I’ve also included a photo gallery from last night’s show below.

And for fans who prefer visual… here’s some live footage from last year.

A Flourishing Scourge is:
Tye Jones: Vocals, Guitar
Kevin Carbrey: Bass
Andrew Dennis: Lead Guitar
Elijah Losch: Drums

If you happen to be in Eureka, CA on November 11th you can catch them at the Seattle Metal Invasion show at The Sirens Song or in Reno, NV on November 12th you can catch them wrapping up their fall tour at Jub Jub’s.
