Wednesday night at the beautiful Paramount Theater in Denver, Colorado the G3 tour arrived to rock guitar fans. On display for the evening were Joe Satriani, Phil Collen (Def Leppard) and John Petrucci (Dream Theater), some amazingly talented axe slingers!
It was easy to feel the anticipation in the air talking with people before the show, many who were long time fans of the G3 tour. Phil Collen started the evening out and got the house rockin’. John Petrucci followed and things did not slow down. Joe Satriani stepped in and the electricity flowed through out the theater!
But when the three of them returned together and broke into Deep Purple’s “Highway Star” with Debbie Blackwell-Cook’s vocals complementing these three amazing guitarists, the crowd was on their feet rocking out! From there they rolled right into Stevie Wonders “Superstition” with Cook’s powerful voice adding to that timeless song. Not breaking stride, they finished with a medley of songs ranging from AC/DC to Jimi Hendrix. The crowd was on its feet until the last bow was taken for an amazing night! If you get a chance to catch a G3 show, take the time and enjoy an evening of amazing music.
