Iced Earth Performs

Iced Earth Performs at Denver’s Summit Music Hall – On Wednesday February 28th, Iced Earth rolled into Denver, CO to tear up the stage at the Summit Music Hall. Fans had been waiting for them to tour since the release of their last album, Incorruptible’ which was released in June 2017.

Opening their show with their song “Great Heathen Army”, they set the tone for how the night was going to be, hard and fast hitting. The crowd wasted no time getting the mosh pit open. The stage atmosphere was set with smoke, but not too heavy. The great lighting and sound of the Summit Music Hall was ideal for drummer Brent Smedley who was set in his drum cage high up on the riser, the rest of guys spread across the stage below him. The band looked fresh and sounded sharp, having spent most of January in Europe and taking about a month off before starting on their US and Canadian tour.

From song to song, the power of the bands music resonated throughout the venue as the evening moved on. The fans continued to head bang and the mosh pit grew larger with energetic fans. The energy on stage was no less than the crowd. The guys moved all over interacting with each other from leaning on one another, jumping of the drum riser, or leaning out over the crowd displaying their individual talents.

As the night wore down, the energy in the Summit Music Hall did not. After finishing their final song “Watching Over Me”, everyone wanted more but showed how appreciative they were for the for the great night and great performance by the band. It was a fun night from a band that has been around for over 30 years and have 12 studio albums to their credit. This is a show to put on your bucket list to see.
