Dorothy Performs Denver’s Bluebird Theater – On Friday March 2nd, I had the pleasure of seeing Dorothy‘s live performance at the Bluebird Theater in Denver, CO. I have seen them once before about two years ago when they toured with Lita Ford and Halestorm. I was looking forward to seeing them once again.
This current tour is in support of their second studio album ’28 Days in the Valley’, due out on March 16th via Roc Nation. The buzz in the venue was about the new songs as well as what fans had been hearing about their live shows.
The evening started out with Dorothy walking out onto the stage with an incense stick between her fingers as she talked to crowd a bit about “staying positive in life”. She then broke into “White Butterfly” off their new album and rocked on from there. “Raise Hell” was next, with a taste of the blues, the crowd started clapping and moving and didn’t stop through out the evening.
About half way through their set, Dorothy stepped back and the guys jammed out to the delight of crowd. The night continued with a mix of rock and blues and their fans responded by dancing and cheering until they band closed out the evening with “Freedom” from their new album. The show had a great mix of rock and blues, it was a great pleasure seeing them again. This is a band worth checking out live and make sure to grab a copy of ’28 Days in the Valley’ when it releases on the 16th.
