Tesla Live at Fiddler’s Green Amphitheater

June 5, 2018 - Fiddlers Green Amphitheater, Greenwood Village, CO.

Tesla

Tesla is currently out on tour with Styx and Joan Jett.  The tour stopped in Greenwood Village, CO last week at Fiddler’s Green Amphitheater.

Tesla opened the night with “I Wanna Live” from their 2008 album, Forever More and I knew we were in for a great night. Vocalist,  Jeff Keith, came strutting out on stage in his silver, black and white pants, leopard skin scarf wrapped around his neck, jewelry on his hands and wrists and let the crowd know, his voice was strong and he was ready to rock the amphitheater and Tesla did just that.

Jumping back in time with their next song, “Hang Tough” from their 1989 album The Great Radio Controversy, guitarists, Frank Hannon and Dave Rude, moved across the stage entertaining the crowd with their magic. Bassist, Brian Wheat, joined in with the others as they leaned on each other sharing their energy in what they do best. When the band started the song “Signs” a cover from the Five Man Electrical Band, Keith urge the crowd to join in singing the song which the crowd was already doing.

One thing about the crowds at these shows, the average age was easily in the 50’s and they were singing just as loud as any crowd I’ve ever heard. They finished their set with what was no surprise to anyone, “Modern Day Cowboy” from their 1986 album Mechanical Resonance and again, the crowd sang along. Thirty plus years together and they sounded great which set the tone for the night.

Tesla Setlist:
I Wanna Live
Hang Tough
Heaven’s Trail (No Way Out)
What You Give
Signs (cover)
Little Suzi (cover)
Love Song
Modern Day Cowboy
