7 Miles To Pittsburgh – Revolution On Hold. Out via A67 Records now.
Having never come across this band before, I took this album for a spin with zero expectations. From the beginning it was clear this was going to be more of a classic rock feel, the Hammond organ was the dead give away to that assumption. Was I correct? Yes, very much a classic rock feel with some really shiny organ arrangements mixed among some decent guitar tracks.
Many good hooks to make the tracks memorable. And unique vocal stylings that you don’t come across everyday, almost a bit experimental or a cross from a few older styles rock from the late 70’s to 80’s. They weren’t my favorite vocals, but they weren’t terrible either, just not what I particularly enjoy. Just a little too trippy for me.
Final thoughts, if you dig this style of rock totally grab this one. You won’t be disappointed. If you are a hard rock fan who doesn’t dig heavy amounts of organs and trippy vibed vocals, this is not the album for you.
