We have something entirely new for you today! Meet the new band Red Wolf.

This is a new project that was started by legendary Finnish guitarist Euge Valovirta. You may recognize that name on our site from his part in metal band Cyhra and his solo album “Easy Does it” that came out a couple years back. He’s also know for his time in the bands Godsplague, Suburban Tribe and Shining plus many other projects and behind the scenes work.

As 2020 has it, most all tours have been canceled leaving many artists with lots of time to work on new music and other projects. In this particular case, that left Valovirta and Cyhra’s stand in drummer Adde Larsson with time to revisit his solo album and with a little nudging from Larsson about having interest in collaborating on something new, Red Wolf was born.

Being a writer and musician, of course Valovirta had some ideas floating around so work started on the new project. From Helsinki to Gothenburg the recordings started and once the demos were done Valovirta decided it was time to add vocals and an additional writer to the project and he immediately thought of Samy Elbanna (Lost Society) as the perfect fit. But it didn’t stop there, he also sought out Janne Joutsenniemi (Stone, Suburban Tribe) as the bassist addition to round out the project.

What came from this project is completely the opposite of Valovirta’s solo release that was bluesy, rock, and had some tasty chicken pickin. This new project is hard and heavy! I think the choices made on the members aided in this sound and I am really looking forward to hear what the full coming album holds!

You don’t have to wait to get a taste of Red Wolf! Today the band has released their first single and accompanying video. Check out Red Wolf for yourself and see why this new band needs your attention, as if the artists in this lineup weren’t enough!
